Nigar Johar Muslim First Female Lieutenant General

  • Major General Nigar Johar has become Pakistan's first female officer to be promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.
  • She was born in a very value oriented Pathan family
  • Most of the generals come from Swabi but she is the first female General in the history of Muslim era from Panjpeer, District Swabi KPK.
  • She is the daughter of Col Qadir, who served in the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and is the niece of retired Maj Mohammad Aamir, a former Pakistan Army officer who served in the ISI as well.
  • Both her parents died in a car accident 30 years ago.
  • She completed her schooling from Presentation Convent Girls High School, Rawalpindi in 1978 then she joined the army medical college in 1981
  • She graduated from Army Medical College in 1985.
  • She is from the 5th MBBS course of Army Medical College.
  • she has served as female company commander of Ayesha Company at the same college.
  • In 2010, she completed the examination for membership of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan
  • In 2012, she completed her diploma in Advance Medical Administration through the Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute
  • In 2015, she received a Masters degree in public health from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore
  • She is not only the newly promoted lieutenant general a doctor, but also a sharp shooter.
